                                                       USE OF PRIVATE VEHICLE

1.    Driver must possess:
       a.    Valid California driver's license.
       b.    Minimum Liability Insurance of $100,000

2.    Number of passengers shall not exceed ten (10), including the driver.  In no case shall
       the number of passengers, including driver, exceed the number of available seat belts
       in the vehicle.

3.    Trips must be approved, in advance, by the appropriate school or program administrator.

4.    All drivers, (whether employees or volunteers), must be approved by the District prior to
       departure.

5.    Vehicle form "Use of Private Vehicle" must be completed, approved and on file in the
       approving office prior to departure (see page 2).

6.    Use of the vehicles where knowledge of hazardous road conditions exist is prohibited. 
       This includes hazardous road conditions declared by the California Highway patrol (CHP),
        or other city, county, state or federal agencies to monitor road conditions.

7.    Prior to departure, the driver shall be instructed by the appropriate school or program
       administrator as follows:
       a.    Follow the most direct route.
       b.    Avoid unnecessary, unscheduled stops.
       c.    Do not carry non-District personnel, non-students or other "guests" as passengers
              unless prior authorization has been issued by the District.
       d.    Do not carry more than ten (10) passengers, including the driver, regardless of the
              size of the vehicle; otherwise the vehicle used must be a school bus or student
              pupil activity bus as defined in the California Vehicle Code and operated by a driver
              licensed for that type of vehicle.
